Unit 10

Life in the driving lane. Been driving my sister back and forth to AZ from Sac, Ca. Twelve hours each way. We're leaving again on Monday. Yikes. Talk about tired. Now I've definetly have flunked both my classes. I did not get either paper turned in. Lat papers would not be accepted so that was that. I'm kinda bummed about it. But not too much. Should I get the chance to take both classes again, I will be more prepared. Focusing will be a lot easier now that I have a new routine taking care of my family. The depression cloud is lifting. It looks brighter and brighter everyday. I am very thankful for that.
I wish everyone the best of luck in all their endeavors.

Unit 9

With your paper done or almost done, how do you feel
• Do you feel nervous, accomplished, or just plain tired?
• How do you feel about writing at this point? Has your idea of writing changed throughout the course?
• What other topics would you like to research?
I am tired would be the only way to describe this experience. However, the fun has just begun. I have to finish my final paper by Tues. In the meantime I have to move my sister from CA to AZ this weekend. This was not in my plans at all. My plan was to work on both my papers. I can see it now---working throught the night to get this task completed. Not fun.
But I think I can get through it.

Unit 8

As I've said before this term has been darn near impossible. But somehow, some way I'm getting through it. I'm behind and need to catch up as much as possible.
I wrote my paper and never posted the rough draft when we were suppose to. I felt at the time I would not have been able to handle the critisism and rejection. I chose the wrong topic for my paper at the wrong time in my life. I wrote about Bipolar Disorder. My own diagnosis since I was about 21. I've had some CRAZY episodes in my life. I've been on and off medication for the last 14 years. I wrote my paper based on experience. Which is why it's so personal. Also why there aren't very many citations in it. I would like everyone to be a little more educated in a way I wasn't. I never thought to explore the medications I was given. I just took them because the shrink said to.
At the time of writing my paper I was deep in the depression stage. It's been a good 3 yrs since that's happened. I almost checked into a facility this time. I decided not to. For my kids, my job, my home, and other responsibilities. I started my medications again. A little late but better than never. I had to rearrange my life to fulfill the duties that partner used to take care of. I think I took for granted the contribution of said person. It's lonely in the big world.
Will I continue my blog after this class? Definetly not! Don't have the time. I wasn't happy to have to do it this time.

Unit 6

Now we're in unit 6 and I'm ready to quit school right now. This is not exactly the right time now. Still sleeping 12-15 hrs a day on the weekends. That is time I should be doing homework. Yet, getting off the couch is still a chore. Haven't gotten off the couch today except to light the a fire in the fireplace. We have a nice storm going on right now. Which means I can't take the dog out for our walk. We only went twice last wk instead of everyday. I think the dog doesn't mind too much since he gets to sleep on the couch with me.

Unit 5

School influencing my life.
My last few terms, school was great. This term has not turned out like that. I started a new job that is as confusing as the day is long. And then my partner and I are no longer together. That has been the cause of some major depression. I feel like Sandra Bullock right about now. Although, Jesse did have the nerve to admit it. Not everyone is like that. So class right now, has been the least of my concerns. Just getting out the bed and getting in the shower on a daily basis is hard. Going to work has been hell. Coming home and taking care of my family (now that my partner is not here) is a huge task. It's very hard to not just sleep, and sleep, and sleep some more. Because that's all I really do nowadays. I try opening my computer to do schoolwork. It's like I'm just staring at the screen waiting for I don't know what. The only thing I am able to do is go to bingo on Fridays. I wake up for that. Almost won this last Friday.
I know they say time heals all. No, I don't have proper APA citation for that. I am trying to be strong and not an idiot. It's always easy to have crappy self esteem and go back to that person. How much time is this going to take I wonder. Oh, well. I do apologize for all my negativity and non participation recently. I'll be good to go soon enough.

Unit 4 Blog

Okay. This wk was about plagerism and citing stuff. My opinion is we did this in English 1. Why are we doing it again? I know I'm not paying all this money for a class that's repetitive. Teach me something new. Especially since you are also playing with my time. Which has become extremely limited. Nor does it help to have quite a number of "mental days" in a row.

I'm not about to go through my plagerism story again. Did that in the first class. I'm good. We all know it's wrong. The book and tutorials give great advice on how to avoid it. I'm glad this lesson is over.

Being an online student

My life as an online student has been very basic and plain for the most part. I signed up for school as a somewhat impulsive idea. I didn't research any schools or options. The only thing I knew was what I wanted to do. I already work in my field so why not go to school for it.
Needless to say, I was completely unprepared. It has taken some time to get things situated. Especially with the way life continues to change. With self-motivation, pressure, and the "I can do anything" attitude; I've gotten by so far. I feel okay and confortable with online school now. At first I hated it. I figured traditional school seemed easier. I still think so, but this is kinda more convenient for me afterall.
My home life includes two teenagers who are good kids. If I can get my son to graduate this year that would be awesome and a feat in itself. My daughter is going through the braces and glasses phase while being in middle school. Costing a ton of money I must say. Luckily, I don't have to to do that part on my own. They both require planning for all their school, social life "stuff" and everything else. It's a lot of scheduling that I work around school. Some days I get truly fed up.
My older brother lives with me. He is severly schizophrenic. He has his days from time to time. He is also paralized in his left arm. So doing some things takes time. Although he is the most polite person. I just have to do everything for him. Right now we have been going to bingo for the last three weekends. This has been the first time I have been able to get him to go out in public in almost 10 yrs. Of course this takes away from school time. But it's worth it. Even though we don't win.
Since starting school, I haven't touched any of my hobbies. Those include cars, reading, crotcheting, and a few other things. I've only been messing with my car lately because it's having issues. Thank goodness my dad just opened a new shop. I can do a lot of the work myself. Again, time consuming and taking away from school responsibilities.
I work for a company that assist with a medicaid program for California. This is a new job with a start up project. Therefore, there's a lot of pressure and eyeballs looking at us. It's also an opportunity to shape this into what we want. In the beginning our schedules changed a lot and it totally messed me up with school. Now we are somewhat straight with hours. Well at least for now they are consistent hours. I've had to change my school schedule twice to coincide with work. That was not fun in the least. I get off work at 6:15pm and have to drive all the way across town to make it to class by 7pm. So if you see me just getting in seminar late, it means I literally just ran in the door.
So that's my daily life as an online student.
