Being an online student

My life as an online student has been very basic and plain for the most part. I signed up for school as a somewhat impulsive idea. I didn't research any schools or options. The only thing I knew was what I wanted to do. I already work in my field so why not go to school for it.
Needless to say, I was completely unprepared. It has taken some time to get things situated. Especially with the way life continues to change. With self-motivation, pressure, and the "I can do anything" attitude; I've gotten by so far. I feel okay and confortable with online school now. At first I hated it. I figured traditional school seemed easier. I still think so, but this is kinda more convenient for me afterall.
My home life includes two teenagers who are good kids. If I can get my son to graduate this year that would be awesome and a feat in itself. My daughter is going through the braces and glasses phase while being in middle school. Costing a ton of money I must say. Luckily, I don't have to to do that part on my own. They both require planning for all their school, social life "stuff" and everything else. It's a lot of scheduling that I work around school. Some days I get truly fed up.
My older brother lives with me. He is severly schizophrenic. He has his days from time to time. He is also paralized in his left arm. So doing some things takes time. Although he is the most polite person. I just have to do everything for him. Right now we have been going to bingo for the last three weekends. This has been the first time I have been able to get him to go out in public in almost 10 yrs. Of course this takes away from school time. But it's worth it. Even though we don't win.
Since starting school, I haven't touched any of my hobbies. Those include cars, reading, crotcheting, and a few other things. I've only been messing with my car lately because it's having issues. Thank goodness my dad just opened a new shop. I can do a lot of the work myself. Again, time consuming and taking away from school responsibilities.
I work for a company that assist with a medicaid program for California. This is a new job with a start up project. Therefore, there's a lot of pressure and eyeballs looking at us. It's also an opportunity to shape this into what we want. In the beginning our schedules changed a lot and it totally messed me up with school. Now we are somewhat straight with hours. Well at least for now they are consistent hours. I've had to change my school schedule twice to coincide with work. That was not fun in the least. I get off work at 6:15pm and have to drive all the way across town to make it to class by 7pm. So if you see me just getting in seminar late, it means I literally just ran in the door.
So that's my daily life as an online student.
